Ginx, the poem I write to you.
Big eyes so blue,
That’s how I think of you.
Deep as the sea,
You are the biggest part of me.
Bold and clear,
Reflecting like a shiny mirror.
Everlasting admiration,
Bright as the outside.
Blinded by soulful cries,
Too deep to hide.
You held me high when I was knocked down low,
The lifeboat when I drowned.
I prayed times like this would stay,
Before I knew you would perish away.
Tears streaming down my face.
Crashing wave on wave.
Without your soft pur,
I feel out of place.
Your absence now diminished,
I feel as though life has vanished.
Your blue collar jingling,
Ringing like a bell.
Still echoing in quiet rooms,
And filling the empty air.
The touch of your soft coat of beige fur,
As warm as sunlight.
A comfort lingering, long after the light
In your scent I find home,
Though now I stand here all alone.
Wooden floors remembering the sound of your sharp claws,
Following the traces of your paws.
In times of despair,
I look around, expecting you there.
Angel fallen from Earth,
Knocking on Heaven’s door.
Hope that one day,
I’ll meet you once more.
