Is Men's Volleyball a Thing Now?

Yes it is. As most have heard, a few weeks ago Terra Linda’s first men’s volleyball team in about three years held tryouts. Now, they are training to be the best they can to lead Terra Linda to victory. But in the meantime their focus is to improve their skills and have fun learning a new sport. One of the people who tried out was Sleiman El-Ahmadieh because he’s always liked playing volleyball since he was a kid. Continually, he says, the team is learning quickly and is positive about the potential for a good season. Chris Tan, a freshmen on the team, agrees and commented that, “We all got better in two weeks… and we’re going to keep on getting better.” Tan and teammate Anthony Judkins  tried out for the team because they thought it would be a fun new opportunity to learn a new sport. Judkins also commented, “We’re only going to get better.” One of the main reasons the team started this year is that there was “so much push for it” added El-Ahmadieh and, as Judkins put it, “more people are interested this year than before, which is a good thing because it’s a really fun sport.” Coach Connor Renk also works at St. Hilary School in Tiburon as a 3rd Grade Assistant Teacher and 3rd and 4th grade P.E. teacher. “I could not ask for a better job.  I look forward to going to work every day because I have the rare opportunity of working with kids of all ages, every day.” Renk has already worked at TL as the assistant coach to the Boys’ Varsity basketball team.

As the season comes to a close the boys are proud of their work and excited to continue the team next year.
