The Trojans suffocating defense has been their identity this season as they have held their opponents to 5.9 Goals per Game, which is best in all of NCS. In the 3rd quarter, the Trojans really turned it on, adding 5 goals to widen their lead while only allowing a single shot to penetrate their defense. The Trojans run was highlighted by 2 goals back to back from Captain Max Manwaring-Mueller. “That was the point in the game where we really felt like the momentum swayed in our direction” said Coach Geoff Peters.
The Trojans were feeling it as Marin Catholic couldn’t get anything going whatsoever, as TL was always one step. It helped that the Trojans got MC’s big threat Conor Cassidy into foul trouble early and forced him to sit on the bench. Up 9-3 the Trojans starters came out of the to thunderous cheers from the best fans in all of MCALs. The 2nd stringers then added another three goals in the 4th quarter to close out the game with a 12-3 victory.
