Many powerful figures were named in the recent Epstein file release. From politicians and professors to tech giants and doctors, Epstein’s ties stretched alarmingly far. Below, a few prominent figures and their ties to the convicted sex offender have been described.

Bill Gates has been making headlines often as of late. In the files, he is said to have had adulterous affairs with Russian girls, stated in two emails drafted by Jeffrey Epstein. Gates’ spokespersons have repeatedly emphasized that nothing in the files “is concrete proof”, and that other than a few philanthropic dinners, which Gates “deeply regrets”, he never saw Epstein. His former wife, Melinda Gates, contrastingly shared that Bill Gates’ connection with Epstein was one of the reasons for their divorce in 2021. The latest file release “brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage,” Melinda shared to NPR.

Elon Musk exchanged much correspondence with Epstein in the latest collection of files. In 2012, Epstein asked Musk via email how many people he would bring to the island around Christmas. “Probably just Talulah and me,” Musk replied. Talulah Riley was his wife at the time. The following year, Musk again asked to visit Epstein’s island around the holidays, stating that he would be in St. Barts then. Musk has since declared that the correspondence is “misleading.” His estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, however, shared on Twitter that they were in St. Barts around the time specified in the emails. Musk’s brother, Kimbal Musk, was particularly friendly with Epstein between 2012 and 2015; over the years, Epstein connected him with two women.

Recently, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman has been publicly feuding with Musk on X in a chaos of accusations sparked by the recent Epstein release. Musk claims that Epstein tried to pressure him to go to his “pedo island”, and he repeatedly said no. “Unlike you,” he accused Hoffman, attaching released email correspondence to his post. The email consists of Epstein and Hoffman discussing a meet-up, and Hoffman giving Epstein “a gift”. The LinkedIn cofounder responded by telling Musk to “stop making false accusations” and to obtain justice for the victims. Most of the following thread consisted of them accusing each other of going to Epstein’s island. As well as Musk, emails allude that Hoffman has visited.

Howard Lutnick, Trump’s Commerce Secretary, has given contradictory statements regarding his relationship with Epstein. Initially, Lutnick stated he cut contact with him in 2005; however, following the recent file release, the secretary admitted to having lunch with Epstein on his island in 2012. “My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies,” he said in testimony to the Senate Appropriations Committee. Lutnick also shared that he’d met with Epstein an additional time. The two were neighbors, and involved in business together up until 2014. Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen and others have called for his resignation for misleading the public. Press Secretary Karoline Leavette maintains that Lutwick is “a very important member of Trump’s cabinet.”

Peter Madelson’s involvement in the Epstein files has crumpled his career. The former U.K. Ambassador to the U.S. was dismissed by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in 2025. He had been appointed to the position in 2024, even though his ties to Epstein were known. It took the first release of the files for the U.K. to revoke its appointment decision. In it, Mandelson suggests that Epstein may have been wrongfully convicted. The January 30th release alleged that Mandelson sent ‘market-sensitive information’ to Epstein while he was the business secretary for the U.K. in 2008. He also accepted $75,000 from the convicted sex offender.

Head of the 2028 Summer Olympics Committee Casey Wasserman exchanged several flirtatious emails with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s right-hand woman. One such email involved Maxwell offering a massage to Wasserman. Epstein was known to force victims to give him massages without clothes on. Wasserman owns a media management agency with many high-profile clients. Since the latest release, several of them, including Chappel Roan and Beach Bunny, have left the agency. The LA28 Olympics committee, however, continues to offer support to Wasserman.

Peter Attia is a well-known longevity doctor who specializes in the field of anti-aging. His friendship with Epstein extended into the 2010s after the sex offender’s 2008 soliciting prostitution charge. Attia and Epstein communicated several times over email, exchanging crude jokes about women. Attia also told Epstein, “the life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul.” His behavior has incited widespread criticism over the credibility of wellness influencers, and various doctors have expressed outrage over Attia’s appearances in the recent files. Two days before the file release, he was brought on as a contributor for CBS. The network has decided not to dismiss him in the wake of the “Epstein frenzy”. Besides Attia, several other doctors are named in the files.

Nathan Wolfe is an American Virologist and a former professor at Stanford. While he worked there, Wolfe suggested that Epstein fund a study of the sexual behavior of undergraduates. Although Epstein never ended up funding the program, his interest in colleges didn’t end there. He provided a 6.5 million dollar check to mathematical biologist Martin Nowak in 2003 to start an Evolutionary Dynamics program at Harvard. Additionally, after his 2008 conviction, Epstein donated over $850,000 to MIT. Since, the institute has fired the professor who accepted the donation and pledged to donate the money to charities that benefit the survivors of sexual abuse. Epstein had ties with various other colleges, such as Arizona State. This particular connection was specifically through professor Lawrence Krauss, who publicly dismissed Epstein’s crimes. Eventually, Krauss was fired from Arizona State for sexual misconduct.

Rutgers University evolutionary biologist Robert Trivers also publicly supported Epstein. He told The Guardian in 2015, “By the time [girls are] 14 or 15, they’re like grown women were 60 years ago, so I don’t see these acts as so heinous.” The Guardian didn’t comment on the remark; however professor Professor Joseph R. Chaney of Indiana University reached out to Trivers over email, requesting he publicly apologize for the “harmful statement” and that it “reflects badly on all of us,” referring to academia as a whole. It is unclear whether or not Triver replied. A particular field the professor researched was hormone manipulation, specifically how gender transitions affect the appearance of transgender men and women. He described his observations to Epstein graphically in a 2018 email, and inquired about the convicted sex offenders “preferences.”

Ghislaine Maxwell was charged with child sex trafficking and other crimes in relation to Epstein in 2021. She is currently serving a 20 year prison sentence, and pleaded the Fifth Amendment, her right to remain silent, when questioned at a virtual congressional deposition on February 9th. She says she will speak up if President Trump grants her clemency, which is a legal pardon or reprieve of punishment. Thus far, Maxwell’s only comments have been to say that both Trump and Clinton “have no involvement in the files.” Clinton had some semblance of a relationship with Epstein, whose private jet he traveled on several times. Whether or not he went to the island is unclear. Clinton reportedly cut ties with Epstein in the early 2000s; but remained in contact with Maxwell. She provided around one million dollars in funding for the Clinton Global Initiative, which she attended up until 2013.

Former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles in November of 2025. In the most recent file release, there are several photos of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor crouched over a woman, whose face has been obscured. It is also alleged that he shared confidential information with Epstein regarding trade in Southeast Asia. His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, is mentioned in various emails; it has been hypothesized that she felt romantically toward Epstein. Documents show that both Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson maintained contact with Epstein beyond the dates they’d claimed to cut him off.
