Salt fills the air and clings to my skin
My feet seep into the warm sand, hugging me like a warm blanket
The waves whisper softly to me as they hit the shore
A steady voice comforting me like a lullaby, oh I want to hear more
Palm trees dance in the wind to a music only they can hear
A mango and peach ice cream swirl drifts like a summer cheer
Disappearing into the horizon like a sweet dream
The ocean sparkles endlessly, like a blanket of diamonds with many special treasures hidden beneath the surface
Seagulls squawking overhead, their soulful cries echo through the endless sky
The cool water traps me in its gentle clutch, sending shivers of glee down my spine
Sand stuck to every crevice of my body
Piña colada in my hand, with my family waiting in the lobby
The sun burns my skin to a warm glow that lingers all day
Time slows as if the island is asking me to stay
Sniffing the hibiscus flowers and looking at the beautiful morning glories
I see my mom snapping away, filling her photo album with glories
My summer dress catches the wind, like a sail in the sky
Carried on a breeze as the clouds float by
As the days start to go by
And the stars are left dancing in the sky
I remember that Hawaii is more than just an island
It’s a very special place where time softly blends
Each moment is filled with magic that never ends
