Chase Addleman, a senior at Terra Linda High School and a player on the boys varsity basketball team has made a tremendous impact on the court this year. Growing up, this varsity athlete consistently watched basketball on TV, an interest that later inspired him to play the sport. This season, Addleman is particularly proud of his team’s win against Marin Catholic High School, a game in which he personally scored twenty-two points. His leadership has led the team to more wins like this over the course of the season. Overall, basketball has changed Addleman’s life in many ways. Giving him new friends, memories, or opportunities, playing basketball is a passion that Addleman hopes to follow after graduation.
Addleman has played basketball for years, which has influenced both his skills with the ball as well as his friendships with teammates on the court. A long-term teammate and friend of Addleman, Bennet Kayser ‘25, shares, “I’ve played basketball with Chase since third grade, which really helps on the court because we have good chemistry with each other.” Kayser adds, “He also not only knows how to play well, he knows how to teach well.” This makes him a role model to others, especially younger players.
Fellow teammate Cole Nelson ‘25 adds that Addleman is a vital part of the team, and has added great sportsmanship and energy to the court since he joined the varsity team junior year.. “He always hypes us up,” Nelson explains, “He really has a great feel for the game.” Nelson also points out that Addleman has played basketball with many of the players on the team for several years, a fact that has led to a strong connection among teammates as well as smoother playing on the court. Addleman has had a huge impact on Terra Linda’s basketball team, and in return the sport has had a major impact on his life.
