RUSTEM GURLER

Dear Abby,

Hey, I’m going through a really tough time right now, and I could use some advice. I recently returned from Uganda and I can not find friends who I can call my brothers. Can you help me? Do you know the way?

Dear Student,

When moving to a new place, it’s always hard at first to meet new people. When I moved here, it took me a while to navigate a new school and to make new friends, but once you find people you relate to and get along with, it gets so much better. The best thing to do in this situation is to try to find a group you feel comfortable with. It’s often easier to connect with people who have similar interests. There are many different clubs at our school. Read through this list and see if any of them interest you:

Art Club meets Wednesdays in Room 14

Asian Cultural Club meets bimonthly on Thursdays in Room 411

Badminton Club meets Fridays at the Gym/Tennis Courts

Book Club meets monthly in Room 59

Creature Writing Club meets Tuesdays in Room 309

Dance Crew meets Wednesdays in Gym 1

Fashion Club meets Tuesdays in Room 310

Film Club meets twice a month on Fridays in Room 410

French Honors Society meets Fridays in Room 401

Friendship Club (make new friends) meets twice a month on Thursdays in Room 23

Gaming Club  meets Thursdays in Room 201

GSA meets every other week on Thursdays in Room 411

Interact (volunteer work) meets twice a month on Thursdays in Room 410

Leo’s Club: meets TBA Wednesdays in room 307

Feminism  Club (Spreading awareness) meets twice a month on Thursdays in Room 302

Magic: the Gathering (Card Club) meets Wednesdays and Fridays in Room 412

Multicultural Club meets twice a month on Thursdays in Room 101

Sewing Club meets Fridays in Room 207

Surf and Surfrider (discuss) meets Wednesdays in Room 107

Things With Strings meets Wednesdays in Room 61

With patience and some effort, you will make friends this Spring!
