Spring Break Movie Extravaganza

Spring Break is around the corner and it will be a glorious week for all of us! Some people plan on go on beautiful vacations (that are understandably as far away as possible) and others plan to sleep until two in the afternoon (which is also understandable). If you’re planning on staying home for most or all of the week, then here are some movies that are playing at Northgate during Spring Break. With the exception of Howl’s Moving Castle, I will not list all of the dates and times for the movies because it would be easier to look at the theatre’s website or Fandango that info!

Howl’s Moving Castle

This year for Studio Ghibli fest, Fathom Events is playing Howl’s Moving Castle. This classic film is about how Sophie, who works in her deceased father’s hat shop, goes day by day in life. She never experienced anything interesting until she meets a mysterious and immature wizard, Howl, and gets turn into an elderly lady by the Witch of the Waste, a witch you could say is selfish. This movie is only being played on April 7th and 8th. On the 7th, Northgate is playing the English Dub at 12:55 pm. On the 8th, the theatre is playing the English Sub at 7 pm.

Shazam!

14 year old Billy Batson has the power to transform into an adult superhero by saying “Shazam!” As an adult superhero, Billy still has a teenlike mentality and does typical teenaged activites in his new body. While figuring out his powers in a fun, teenaged way, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana is trying to find a way to get his powers. For the most part, Billy’s power to turn into an adult superhero sounds interesting but stressful since Billy has to balance the expectations of being a teen, an adult, and a superhero. Who am I to judge, though?

Little

Little is about Jordan, an entitled mogul, magically turns into her 13 year old self mainly because she treats the people around her like trash. She going through life as a 13 year old and figuring out how to get to her true age. Little premieres on April 12th but Northgate is starting to show the film on the 11th because the theatre expects it to be popular.

Hellboy

Based on the Hellboy comics, Hellboy is an interesting combination of a supernatural and human (and maybe Hot Cheeto), and has the power to fight a sorceress threatening to put the world in danger. I didn’t know what to make of the information the trailers and imdb gave me, so here are two Hellboy trailers for you. Like Little, Hellboy is being premiered on the 12th but Northgate is showing it on the 11th.
