The Crazy Case of Donald Trump

Donald Trump is currently the leading candidate of the Republican Party (GOP). He is probably the least presidential of the candidates currently running. His words and actions have been questionable throughout his campaign.

For Instance he said, “I could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and shoot someone and I wouldn’t lose voters.” No presidential candidate should ever mention shooting someone, all joking aside. They have to set an example that the people follow and Donald Trump has failed to do so. He acts very immature and is inciting violence amongst the people. On the subject of his immaturity, at the most recent town hall, moderator Anderson Cooper asked Trump about an extremely unflattering photo of Heidi Cruz he posted on Twitter. Trump responded to the beef saying, “I didn’t start it.” Cooper responded with, “Sir, with all due respect, that is the argument of a five-year old.” On the subject of him inciting violence he said at a rally, “If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them,” he said. “Just knock the hell out of them. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.”

When the leading Republican Candidate is acts like a kindergartener one might expect their position to fall in the polls, and yet Donald Trump is still the leading candidate. Day in and day out, he insults people, incites violence, comes up with a whole load of crap, and continues to win.

Another one of Trump’s shortcomings is that he comes up with un-American policies or actions. He wants to take away women’s rights by punishing them if they get an abortion, he wants to build a wall along the Mexican and United States border, and he actually thinks that Mexico will pay for the wall. I don’t know where he comes up with all of these ideas, but he says it all, and somehow doesn’t really lose voters at all.

Trump is the epitome of a political weathervane. Take for example the topic of abortion, Donald Trump has had many different views on the topic. He has been pro choice. In July 2000, he came out saying he was pro-choice, but against partial birth abortions. Then in February 2011, he came out saying he was pro-life and that he wanted to fight Obamacare abortion funding. Then in August 2015, he said that Planned Parenthood is important but abortions must stop. Then later that year he said defund Planned Parenthood. Now in 2016, he has praised the work Planned Parenthood does. Someone with all these different, contradictory views on such a major topic should not be president. He also has some seriously terrible quotable moments.  “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” As well as, “I think Islam hates us.” The fact that he wants to ban all Muslims from the United States and that he believes all of Islam hates us is crazy. The fact that he firmly believes that all of Islam hates us, which is about 1.6 billion people, is just crazy and downright idiotic. Sure certain Muslim people may have hatred towards the U.S., but you can’t say that the entire Islamic faith hates us. It is not presidential and it will make them hate us even more. That is what Donald Trump is doing. He is making more and more countries and religions hate us. Mexico has been trying to get him banned as well as England. The fact that one of our top allies wants to ban a presidential candidate is just bizarre and proves that Donald Trump should not be president.
